The Foundation: We Heal Through Our Relationships
Relationships are a vital part of all life. We learn about ourselves, others, and the world around us through our relationships. Trauma, oppression, abuse, emotional wounds, grief/loss, and many other challenges can be overwhelming, create disconnection, and leave us feeling hopeless. Under certain conditions, much like composting, those challenges can offer us a place from where we can learn, heal, and grow. This process is not linear and is unique to each of us. I am dedicated to creatively collaborating with you to bring more ease and authenticity into your life and your relationships.
My Style as a Therapist
I am passionate about helping people live their lives with integrity. What people say they value most about me as a therapist is that I am genuine, "dig deep", fully engage in conversation with them and that they feel supported without judgment while navigating through some of life's biggest transitions.
I enjoy working with people who are willing to challenge themselves to open up, get uncomfortable, and draw from insights and feedback to bring about lasting change. I'm compelled to work with people who are interested in living life authentically or "out of the box".
The Framework: Education, Training, & Experience
I am practiced in relational and complex trauma therapy, Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (PAT), Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy (IFOT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in combination with somatic experiencing, guided imagery, nature-based healing and mindfulness.
I am in constant awe of the beauty and reciprocity of nature which keeps me grounded. I love to spend time hiking, backpacking, camping, and cross-country skiing. I also enjoy reading, knitting, crafting, and spending time with my family.
Supportive Guide (in training)
This is one of Rosie's happy faces. Rosie moved to Duluth from Texas in 2020. She is about 5 or 6 years old and while she loves to take long, frequent naps, she also loves to go on many different adventures and offer up kind support with a hug or a kiss. Rosie looks forward to meeting you too!
